Vegan fast-food joint, Odd Burger opening on Hamilton Mountain later this month
Hamilton vegans, rejoice - a plant-based fast-food chain will soon be opening its location in the city.
In a press release Wednesday, Odd Burger (formerly known as Globally Local) announced it had completed construction on its Mountain restaurant.
The 1,063-square-foot eatery located at 920 Upper Wentworth St. - across the street from Lime Ridge Mall - is set to open on Oct. 27, according to the company.
Odd Burger offers an assortment of fast-food classics that are entirely vegan, including burgers, wings, mac and cheese, and shakes.
Our social media support from (Hamilton) is off the charts, and our food truck has always been a huge hit in the area, so we think this location will be enormously successful," stated James McInnes, Odd Burger co-founder and CEO, in a release.
The Odd Burger locations function as compact smart kitchens" aimed at takeout and delivery, according to the company.
The chain, which got its start in London, Ont., is expected to make a major expansion in the next year. In the press release, the company said there are already five locations with an additional 15 set to open across North America.
