LQ Praise: The uselessness of "StackExchange" and support-forums like it

Every now and then, I will go to one of the many StackExchange forums trying to find an answer. And this experience just reinforces to me how useless those forums are for that purpose.

Obviously, the owners of SO are "drowning in 'clicks,'" where forums like StackOverflow receive dozens of posts per minute throughout the day. But - that is precisely the problem. There is no organization nor taxonomy to their forums: it's all just one big list. Your post might be noticed by other people who are logged on at the same instant, but within five minutes or so it will be lost in the shuffle, never to be seen and therefore answered again.

I don't use "social media" and, back in the day, I didn't use "IRC = Internet Relay Chat" either. I mostly use the Internet as a resource when I need to find an answer. Forums such as this one -*LQ - continue to remain my "go to source" for efficiently finding them.
