Problem with ssh/sshd

I have recently set up a new slackware64-current (sort of, dates back to the start of 2021) computer at my university for students to use. I find that I can't ssh into the computer from my slackware box in my office. I have double checked that

1. sshd is running on the new computer
2. Port 22 is open on the new computer
3. The local iptables firewall isn't running on the new computer
4. The IP number can be reached via ping
5. Both machines are behind the university's firewall
6. I have an account on the new computer

When I try to ssh into my account on the new computer from my office, the connection times out. I have looked for assistance in general forums with no success. I am hoping to get additional help from here!
