'Wrong way': Serious crash on QEW in Burlington sends 2 to hospital and causes major closure

The OPP is investigating a serious crash on the QEW in Burlington Sunday that has caused a major closure.

The crash occurred early Sunday (Oct. 24) on the Hamilton-bound QEW at Northshore Blvd.

QEW access via Eastport Drive remains open.

Police say one of the vehicles was going the "wrong way" on the QEW and crashed into another.

Both drivers have been taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said. Alcohol consumption is being investigated as a contributing factor in this crash.

The Hamilton-bound QEW at North Shore Boulevard is closed due to the collision.
