Houston Texans quarterback Tyrod Taylor will return to practice Wednesday after missing the last five games with a hamstring injury, head coach David Culley announced Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Culley has reiterated Taylor will regain the starting job from rookie Davis Mills when healthy. Houston will play the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8.

The Texans have lost six straight contests, with the first-year passer producing inconsistent performances.

Mills threw for three touchdowns and 312 yards in a close Week 5 loss to the New England Patriots, but he also has three games of under 170 yards passing, including an 87-yard, four-interception game against the Buffalo Bills in Week 4.

Taylor led Houston to victory in the team's season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, racking up 291 yards and two touchdowns.
