concerning Devuan
by kevinbenko from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5R6JN)
First, I had a stroke in 2011.
I have been using Linux since 1995, was distrohopping for a while until I decided on Debian. I have been using Debian since 2005.
I HATE SYSTEMD!!!!!
My current computer is dead (I am on my "smartphone" currently). The motherboard is fried, and the system is 8 (eight) years, although I did upgrade my graphics card about 5 years ago.
While I cannot build it from components (brain damage) the local computer guy will do it, as Newegg does not have exactly what I am looking for.
So, I know Devuan does NOT use Systemd, and since I am more comfortable with the the old system type setup, I was thinking about installing Devuan IF AND ONLY IF it has certain packages...
Amarok
Steam
The ability to install proprietary graphics drivers from Nvidia?
Hmmm... well, that seems to be it!
Does Devuan have Amarok And the Steam client as well as allowing me to use proprietary Nvidia drivers???
OK longest question, but I would guess the answers would be really short, even a single word response.
Thank you for your time, and have a great day!
