Hamilton police constable charged after pointing his gun at another officer
Hamilton police say one of their officers has been charged with firearm-related offences after he allegedly pointed his gun at another member of the force.
In a release Thursday, police said Const. Brandon Terdik allegedly pointed his service firearm at another Hamilton police officer during an on-duty incident on Oct. 23.
In an email to The Spectator, spokesperson Jackie Penman said Terdik has been with the service for less than two years and worked in patrol. She could not provide any further details about where the incident occurred.
Police said Terdik has been charged with pointing a firearm and careless use of a firearm, and has been suspended with pay. He was released on an undertaking and will appear in court on Nov. 25.
Penman said no further details be released on the incident as the matter is now before the courts.
