NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was paid nearly $128 million over the last two fiscal years, according to Ken Belson of The New York Times.

Goodell's pay, which was revealed during a meeting between team owners on Wednesday in Manhattan, was reportedly boosted by bonuses for closing media contracts and the new 10-year collective bargaining agreement between players and team owners.

The commissioner's income makes him one of the highest-paid executives in the United States, according to Belson.

Owners saw during a slideshow that Goodell averaged $63,900,050 per year over the course of the 2019-20 and 2020-21 campaigns. They were told that Goodell's pay was due to him aiding the league in locking down favorable labor and media deals, attendees told Belson.

Goodell is under contract through 2024. His extension was reportedly worth $200 million over five years. The 62-year-old has served as commissioner of the NFL since 2006.
