Hopkins hampered by hamstring during TNF, checked himself back into game
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was in and out of the lineup throughout Thursday Night Football because of a hamstring injury.
"He wasn't feeling great health-wise," head coach Kliff Kingsbury said after the Cardinals suffered their first loss of the season, according to Craig Grialou of AZCardinals.com.
Hopkins caught a 55-yard pass down the sideline in the first quarter but didn't take another snap until after halftime. He had an 11-yard reception shortly after returning in the third quarter but didn't make another catch the rest of the night.
He tried to return late in the fourth quarter after missing another chunk of action as the Cardinals attempted to scrape out a late comeback.
Kingsbury said the star wideout ran onto the field on his own a couple of times, adding that he wants Hopkins to be more cautious given the number of games remaining in the season, according to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss.
Hopkins entered Week 8 with a hamstring injury and was listed as questionable to face the Packers leading up to the affair.
Despite his limited snaps, the five-time Pro Bowler led the Cardinals in receiving yards in the 24-21 loss. He has a team-high 486 receiving yards on the season.
