Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry suffered a potentially season-ending foot injury in Sunday's 34-31 overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Mike Vrabel announced Monday that Henry will undergo foot surgery Tuesday morning. The head coach didn't provide a specific timeline on a possible return but noted there's "absolutely" a chance that Henry plays again this year, according to Adam Beasley of Pro Football Network.

Henry is likely facing a timetable of six-to-10 weeks, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

The 27-year-old broke the fifth metatarsal in his foot, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports. The star rusher appeared to suffer the injury early in Sunday's game. He was seen having his foot taped and testing it out on the sideline before returning and finishing the contest with 68 yards on 28 carries.

Tennessee is reportedly already looking to add reinforcements, with former MVP Adrian Peterson set to work out for the team this week.

Henry missed only one game over the previous two seasons despite taking on 681 carries, a mark that easily led the NFL. He is again pacing the league in rushing attempts in 2021, with his 219 carries 82 more than the nearest player.

The 2016 second-rounder has turned his immense workload into historic production. He rushed for 1,540 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2019 before becoming the eighth running back in NFL history to crack 2,000 yards in 2020.

With 937 yards in eight appearances, Henry was on pace to become the first-ever player to produce two 2,000-yard campaigns.

If Henry is done for the season, Tennessee could be forced to rely on the inexperienced trio of Jeremy McNichols, Dontrell Hilliard, and Mekhi Sargent. It's possible the Titans, who sit atop the AFC at 6-2, will look to explore trade options ahead of Tuesday's deadline.
