Samba ad dc for windows network - backup and restore
by bitfuzzy from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5RDXV)
I'm experimenting with using Samba as a AD DC controller for windows
Functionally things are looking good (so far) but I've ran into a small snag which I'm at a loss in resolving
I'm currently working on a scheduled backup script (incremented tgz) to backup the relevant Samba files and directories which seems to be working fine
However when I simulate restore from backup, folder and file permissions (acl etc) appear to be intact but when I view the security settings for the Samba folders from within Windows, the ownership and set permissions are correct, but there are always added entries (duplicate user and admin listings, everyone etc).
Thoughts?
