Fujitsu AH532 — "grub installation dummy failed"
by xandrx from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5RFZ8)
Greetings!
I have been working on Linux for several years, before that I used Mint and Kali distributions, recently I decided to switch to Debian, based on the convenience and stability of the system.
I downloaded the Debian Mate + nonfree image to a USB stick, and then proceeded to the installation, at first everything went pretty smoothly, the system installed quickly, but during the GRUB installation phase the installer gave the error "grub dummy installation failed". Googling and using the suggested solution, I did not get a successful result.
I must say something about the laptop itself, it was bought a long time ago, and passed through the hands of many masters due to problems with the BIOS. Initially, Windows 7 was installed on it, but in the year 17-18 I installed Linux, installed and reinstalled distributions, but I never had such errors. Now I don't have access to the BIOS, so I can't change any problems or its settings.
Is it possible to somehow solve my problem without resorting to the services of computer masters, or is it still worth buying a new laptop?
