New King William Street restaurant adds jam to almost everything

If you're the type of person that wants more jammy on your sammy, there is a newish restaurant in downtown Hamilton for you.

Sandwich shop, That's My Jam, opened on King William Street in May, promising to satisfy customers' desires for a nuclear bomb of flavour."

The restaurant promotes its food as unique and healthy, made with fruit sauces produced in-house with no refined sugars or preservatives.

Formerly Made for you by Madeleine Bakery, the 51 King William St. spot offers a multitude of options with jam: a roasted brussels sprouts appetizer with bacon jam; for breakfast, an egg, cheese and mushroom wrap with blueberry compote; for vegetarians, a hummus and cheese wrap with beet jam; and for meat eaters, a barbecue pork sandwich with veggies and cherry compote.

A restaurant oriented around arts, community and dope beats," That's My Jam was designed with splashes of bright colour inside the vibrant dining area, as well as inside each sandwich.

The restaurant promotes itself as an inclusive and anti-racist space for arts and events, including craft nights and an upcoming Rhythm & Blues Paint Night, Nov. 17, that offers paint supplies and instruction as well as one drink included in the ticket price.

Grab an arts or cooking book from their mini-library," listen to some hip-hop music and enjoy a jam sandwich at That's My Jam from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
