Houston Texans head coach David Culley named Tyrod Taylor the team's starting quarterback for their game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, according to Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle.

Taylor will make his return to the field for the first time since leaving the Texans' 31-21 loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 2 with a hamstring injury.

The 32-year-old has passed for 416 yards and three touchdowns while completing 70% of his passes so far this season. He also has 55 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.

"We will use the best guys that give us the best chance to win, and Tyrod Taylor gives us the best chance to win," Culley said, according to SportsTalk 790's Aaron Wilson. "He was our starting quarterback for a reason."

Culley noted that the former Pro Bowl signal-caller is experiencing "no setbacks" ahead of his return, Wilson reports.

Rookie quarterback Davis Mills went 0-6 as a starter in Taylor's absence. The Stanford alum has passed for 1,357 yards, seven touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He has also been sacked 20 times.

Houston is in the midst of a seven-game losing streak after scoring a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the season opener.
