anaconda3

I have a slightly older anaconda3. Is it better to update to the latest using the existing conda, or it is better to do a fresh install of anaconda3?
I am really afraid that after running update, things will break and I have
no way to go back to the old working version. With a fresh install, there is a chance
for me to revert by copying back the old files.
Your thoughts?
