[SOLVED] fdisk boot flag lilo confusion
by NightSky from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5RP6T)
Situation, I never installed slackware without creating a seperate /boot partition before, but this time since I won't be running any other OS, I just went with 4 primary partitions:
/dev/sda1 * 30G /
/dev/sda2 /swap
/dev//sda3 /local/usr
/dev/sda4 /home
In LILO I designate /dev/sda1 as boot partion instead of to MBR
my install of 14.2 failed and I couldn't boot back in with with or without the install dvd L99 99 99 99
So i finally booted into install with slackware 13.1 where did I go wrong. 1) did I not need the boot flag on /dev/sda1 ?
2) should I have just install boot loader into MBR?
Thank you
