Man dies following shooting at a bar on Hamilton’s east Mountain
A man has died following a shooting Sunday morning at a bar in an east Hamilton Mountain plaza.
Police were called to Raoable Restaurant, Lounge and Bar in a plaza at Upper Ottawa Street and Stone Church Road East for a shooting. Emergency crews responded to the area at around 2:15 a.m.
A 26-year-old man was shot multiple times.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the victim, said Hamilton Paramedic Service Chief Dave Thompson. He was taken to hospital without vital signs.
Just before 11 a.m. Sunday, police announced that the victim had died.
Two suspects were seen running from the scene, police say.
Investigators have cordoned off the entire Upper Ottawa plaza for the homicide investigation, which contains several eateries, a salon, laundromat, martial arts gym and a few clothing shops.
Police say there were many people in the bar when the shooting took place.
