How do I properly mount 'Crucial' 1TB SSD in Linux mint 20.2(NVME installed in m.2 slot and it shows up in 'My Computer' but can't open

I have an Z97M-PLUS MB with 12 GB RAM running Linux Mint 20.2. It currently has a 2TB sata HDD for data. Operating system is on a 128 GB corsair SSD. I have successfully (I think) installed the Crucial 1TB NVMe card into the M.2 socket 3
(supports M Key and type 2260/2280 storage device and shares bandwidth with SATA ports 5 and 6.)but although it recognized the 1TB when I click to open I get error message 'Unable to mount location' and can't mount file. I right clicked for properties and only got name and location: Computer:/// and everything else unknown. I opened application 'Disks' and got correct name, size and seriel nmbr but no volume info just 1TB unknown and device /dev/nvme0n1 I wish to clone the operating system to this drive and format the old 128 GB sys drive for fast storage or whatever might be suggested for optimal usage. Anyway I can't even work out how to format the new 1TB drive if that has to be done before cloning because I need a mounted address location don't I. If someone can tell me how to mount the drive; perhaps someone might sugggest which cloning software to use... I understand 'dd' comes with most linux distros and is very powerful but potentially disasterous if I stuff it up. Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated...sorry if I am missing something obvious. cheers
