Falcons' Patterson inactive for TNF vs. Patriots due to ankle injury
Atlanta Falcons running back/wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson won't face the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football due to an ankle injury, the team announced.
The 30-year-old has racked up 473 yards and a team-high five touchdown receptions on 39 catches this season. He also leads Atlanta with 303 rushing yards (3.9 per carry) and two touchdowns on the ground.
Mike Davis will carry the load at running back for the Falcons with Patterson sidelined, while rookie tight end Kyle Pitts is expected to have an increased workload among the team's receivers. Pitts tops Atlanta with 64 targets this year.
The Falcons are already without wide receiver Calvin Ridley - who stepped away from football last month for an indefinite period - and tight end Hayden Hurst, whom the team placed on injured reserve Thursday due to an ankle injury.
Atlanta's wide receiver depth chart features Russell Gage and Olamide Zaccheaus, among others.
