Perhaps it is time to turn Slackware to rolling release distribution

I am quite serious. I don't see how development policy for current fits into concept of stable release.

Years ago the first time I installed Centos I was surprised how much outdated was software in Centos comparing to Slackware.

Now I had more careful look into 14.2 -> 15.0 thread. What people do there they post about just fresh and new software version. I guess in hope new version will replace old.

So current supposedly pointing to 15.0 is all time fresh and new. And this is something I expect from development of rolling release distribution.

For development of stable release just it has to be frozen for quite a long time to allow thorough tests.

People being forced to use current all the time just changed expectations. Some here seems much value freshness than stability.

Just bump up and up. I found only few cases poster justified why to bump up software version. Seems only reason because there is new version.

Alien Bob Slaklive proved that rolling release development of Slackware is quite possible. I think eight months period is ok.

And people loving new stuff will be happy.latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=UEiFhhpbepo:eVGF9SOO4cg:F7zBnMy latest?i=UEiFhhpbepo:eVGF9SOO4cg:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=UEiFhhpbepo:eVGF9SOO4cg:gIN9vFw
