Problem with an unclickable "link" in gitlab

A question about git/gitlab that I can't figure out and I hope you can help me.
First, I use Vanilla Arch with AwesomeWM

Long time ago I cloned a repository from github, 'lain', which is an addon for awesomewm with some things that I use. The bad thing I did was to clone it inside ~/.config/awesome/ and that created a 'lain'-directory in there.
After I did some changes I committed and pushed that to my gitlab project.

Much time later I found that I forgot to remove the .git directory in the lain-directory before I pushed it thus making a link or whatever it's called in my gitlab-project.
Now I can't remove it. I tried months ago to backup some stuff from my machine then go back in time in gitlab to remove that 'link' but it wouldn't go away.
I also can't delete it by using the website.

I only want my changed files and those needed in the lain-dir and nothing else but no matter what I do the 'link' won't be removed.

The link looks like this: "lain @ 1db09ba1". Both the name 'lain' and '1db09ba1' is a link but I can't enter them.
By this all my changes to this is not backed up so now I need to make a separate backup of that.

Have you any clue what I can do or try?
