Password that doesn't exist
by Whoseit from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5SGBX)
Hello
I'm new to Linux, and I just tried to install updates on Mint 20.2, and it's asking for a password. I didn't set a password, so I'm confused.
I can move around on the dashboard and get on the internet. Still, when I go to upgrade or do anything that involves upgrades, firewall, the addition of apps, or anything security-related, I get an authentication window.
Is there a default password in the newer versions of mint? I browsed some of the questions already in the forums, but none of the information seemed relevant. Info is super old, unactionable beyond my current skill level. I'm not in a hurry to start typing stuff in because it took me forever to get my old browser off and install the new one.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
