Detroit Lions running back D'Andre Swift could miss multiple weeks with a shoulder sprain, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

The Lions are taking a cautious approach with their star tailback as he deals with an AC joint injury, reports Fowler.

Swift suffered the injury in the second quarter of the Lions' 16-14 loss to the Chicago Beats on Thanksgiving. The second-year tailback left the game and didn't return.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell said Monday that Swift was still feeling sore and it would be hard for him to envision the back being available for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings, according to The Associated Press.

The Georgia alum has been one of the brighter spots for the Lions amid a winless season. Swift has accounted for 984 yards from scrimmage - 555 rushing and 429 receiving - to go along with six touchdowns.

Jamaal Williams will likely see an increase in snaps with Swift sidelined. He's rushed for 388 yards and two touchdowns to go with 21 receptions for 117 yards. Godwin Igwebuike and Jermar Jefferson could also be options in the backfield.
