"Your Car's Warranty Is About To Expire"--A New Wrinkle in the Auto Warranty Scam

I have no idea how prevalent the auto warranty scam is outside of the States, but it's very prevalent here.

Before my 2003 pick-up truck died (it now rests with the great NPR station in the sky), I was getting calls warning me that its warranty was about to expire (even though it had expired long ago). Now that I've gotten a new(er) car, I'm getting calls that its warranty is about to expire (it's covered by the manufacturer's warranty till 2024--I checked).

Lately, they've taken on a new wrinkle. Now the scammers are using the mail. The letters are cleverly designed to look official to someone who's not paying attention, but they have one sure give-away: They contain no return or business address, only a toll-free number to call. Sure, there's text where the return address should be, but it's not a return address.

I don't know why persons fall for cons like this, but I guess there's a lot of phish in the sea.latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=QGb783IXyHM:M_F0q9dqk04:F7zBnMy latest?i=QGb783IXyHM:M_F0q9dqk04:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=QGb783IXyHM:M_F0q9dqk04:gIN9vFw
