Man sleeping outside downtown Hamilton shot in attack
Police are investigating after someone shot a man who was sleeping on the steps of a downtown Hamilton church early Sunday morning.
In a release, police say the victim was asleep on the steps of St. James Church in the area of James Street South and Jackson Street at around 4:20 a.m. Sunday when a man approached him and attacked him." He was shot in the shoulder.
The man was taken to hospital where he's being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect fled in a dark sedan.
Police say they have no further infromation and could not say if they believe the shooting was targetted.
