Konsole starting solely with root's privileges

I suspect it has something to do with the following: I have built a new 'puter as my old one (called PC) is now eleven years old. I want later to transfer PC's /home to the new one. Yesterday I practiced with rsync on the new system ending up with an error free dry run like (from memory) Code:rsync -aXHAvn PC:home/me/ /home/meI did not commit the rsync run in earnest yet. But on the old PC ("source" for rsync) Konsole is starting solely with root's privileges. How can I convince the old system to let me use Konsole as normal user?latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=OJIAzDHUA2s:nsNSOcVz5io:F7zBnMy latest?i=OJIAzDHUA2s:nsNSOcVz5io:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=OJIAzDHUA2s:nsNSOcVz5io:gIN9vFw
