Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is on track to start Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers despite battling a foot injury this week, head coach Sean McDermott said Friday.

"He should be ready to go. We plan on him starting," McDermott said, according to Heather Prusak of WIVB-TV.

The starting signal-caller, who was limited at practice Thursday, is expected to be a full participant during Friday's session.

Allen entered Week 15 listed as day-to-day after suffering a foot sprain in last week's overtime loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He sustained the ailment in the second half of the game but didn't miss any snaps.

The 25-year-old has completed 65.8% of his passes this season while tossing 28 touchdowns against 11 interceptions.

Having Allen on the field will be crucial for the Bills, who have lost three of their last four games and two in a row. Buffalo currently sits second in the AFC East with a 7-6 record, two games behind the New England Patriots.
