Ideapad 5: power consumption during poweroff
by linux8345 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5T781)
Hi,
I'm using an lenovo ideapad with a Linux installed.
I do NOT use any form of standby, hibernation or anything like that. I always shut down the OS using the button in my GUI.
I even tried "shutdown" as root-user in a Terminal for testing once.
But the powered off laptop still uses about 1% of battery per hour.
So after a day of not using it the battery lost a significant amount of power.
Do you have any ideas for me?
I googled around a lot and only find information about Windows 10 and it's fast-boot feature.
I don't have anything attached to the laptop, so there's no external devices charging via the USB-ports or anything like that.
Unfortunately there's not much to configure in the BIOS and I don't see any option related to this problem.
I checked syslog on the next boot and can't find anything unordinary.
I'm pretty sure that the system "really" shuts down, because I'm getting the GRUB-Screen on the next power-on of the device.
