Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell said Friday it's "highly unlikely" quarterback Jared Goff will play Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

The Lions placed Goff on the COVID-19 reserve list Monday after he tested positive following their 30-12 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

The 27-year-old has completed 67% of his passes while tossing for 3,007 yards and 17 touchdowns against eight interceptions through 13 games this season.

Tim Boyle is in line to replace Goff versus Atlanta. Boyle passed for only 77 yards with no touchdowns and two picks in his first career start in Week 11 while stepping up for an injured Goff.

Detroit's quarterback depth chart also features David Blough, who started five games for the Lions in 2019 but has yet to attempt a pass in 2021.

The Lions also ruled out starting cornerback Amani Oruwariye for Week 16 due to a thumb injury.

Oruwariye has broken out in his third NFL season, racking up six interceptions and 11 pass breakups through 14 games.
