Browns move Mayfield off COVID list ahead of Packers game
The Cleveland Browns activated quarterback Baker Mayfield from the COVID-19 list Friday, the team announced.
The move puts Mayfield on track to start Saturday's game against the Green Bay Packers.
Cleveland also activated backup quarterback Case Keenum and wide receiver Jarvis Landry, among other players.
Mayfield missed Monday's 16-14 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders after testing positive. Third-stringer Nick Mullens took over under center for Cleveland, tossing 147 yards and one touchdown on 20-of-30 passing.
The 26-year-old Mayfield, who's 6-6 in 2021, has completed 62.8% of his passes while throwing for 2,603 yards and 13 touchdowns against seven interceptions through 12 appearances this year.
The 7-7 Browns are still in the playoff mix despite sitting last in the AFC North. A victory versus the Packers, the NFC's No. 1 seed, would improve Cleveland's postseason chances from 15% to 36%, according to FiveThirtyEight.
