Jefferson breaks OBJ's record for most receiving yards in first 2 seasons
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson overtook Odell Beckham Jr. to break the NFL record for most receiving yards by a player in their first two seasons.
Beckham, currently a member of the Los Angeles Rams, set the previous record by racking up 2,755 yards through 27 games with the New York Giants in 2014 and 2015. Jefferson eclipsed that mark in the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Rams in his 31st NFL appearance.
The 22-year-old entered Week 16 just 21 yards shy of the record.
Jefferson broke out during his first pro year in 2020, setting a rookie record with 1,400 yards. The former first-round pick also caught seven touchdowns on 88 receptions.
He entered Sunday's game with 89 receptions for 1,335 yards and nine scores in 2021.
The LSU product has earned Pro Bowl nods in each of his first two NFL campaigns.
