11 people homeless after Christmas Day fire in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE - Eleven people are without a home after a fire destroyed two townhouses and heavily damaged two more on Linden Drive on Christmas Day.
Acting Platoon Chief Luis Gomes said Cambridge Fire was called to the townhome units in the Preston area at 10:23 p.m. on Saturday.
One person went to hospital but was treated and released.
Two units were completely destroyed and two other units were heavily damaged by smoke and heat, Gomes said.
A few other nearby units also had damage, including melted siding.
Gomes said fire investigators remain on the scene. The cause of the fire has not yet been fully determined. A damage estimate was not available.
The Canadian Red Cross is assisting those displaced from their homes.
