Man in critical condition after Brantford stabbing
A Brantford man is facing several charges after a stabbing left another man in critical condition.
In a press release Tuesday, Brantford police said at around 3:15 a.m. on Dec. 27, officers were called to an altercation involving two men outside of a Darling Street residence that left one of them with stab wounds.
At the scene, police said they located one male victim who was then transported to a local trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. The 35-year-old victim remains in hospital in critical condition, according to the release.
Less than three hours later, police said officers located and arrested a male suspect allegedly involved in the incident.
The 26-year-old Brantford man has been charged with aggravated assault, weapons dangerous and breach of probation order.
Police said the accused and the victim were known to one another and investigators are not searching for any other suspects. There is no threat to public safety, according to the release.
Due to the severity of the victim's injuries, the major crime unit has taken over the investigation.
