US state department says it is seeking clarification over detention of Omar Abdalmajeed As'ad
An 80-year-old Palestinian-American manhas been found dead after being detained and handcuffed during an Israeli raid on a village in the occupied West Bank.
The US state department said that Omar Abdalmajeed As'ad was a US citizen and that it had sought clarification from Israel over the incident. His body was found in Jiljilya in the early hours of Wednesday morning with a plastic zip-tie still around one wrist.
