Price: $1,450,000
Neighbourhood: Dundas
Features: Nestled on the edge of the escarpment and within walking distance to downtown Dundas, this two-storey condominium is one of the community's most expensive units on the market.
Located in the former Dundas District High School, the building was converted for residential use in 2013.
With two bedrooms and two bathrooms, the home would be ideal for a retired couple looking to downsize, said salesperson Randy Hart with Royal LePage Burloak Real Estate Services.
Or, a couple that's still working but is able to do their job from home, Hart added.
The main floor of the home features an open-concept kitchen, a bathroom as well as a bedroom and den. On the second floor, there is another bedroom, a full bathroom and an extra living area.
Hart said the entire unit spans more than 2,000 square feet, has 18-foot ceilings and includes a detached two-car garage.
It's not claustrophobic," said Hart. You get that really open, airy feeling, and with the large windows, you get lots of light coming in."
Within the building, residents have access to a fitness facility as well as a communal rooftop patio with a backdrop of the escarpment.
The unit itself was also finished with stone countertops, hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, automatic blinds and radiant in-floor heating.
It has all those regular condo amenities, but also all of these extras," said Hart. They did a really high-end job on it."
Why is it priced this way: Hart said the price for the condo was influenced by recent sales within the building, the uniqueness" of the unit and the state of the market.
Last year, a one-floor unit that was smaller in size sold in the $1.35-million range, while another similar unit that was larger sold at around $1.45 million, said Hart.
Hart also noted there aren't many condos available in Dundas - as of Thursday, just two others were on the market and both were listed under $1 million.
