Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson wants to explore his options to see what is available to him this offseason, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The seven-time Pro Bowler is willing to investigate other destinations to see if another team would put him in a better position to win a championship and establish a legacy, Rapoport adds.

Wilson previously said he hopes to remain with Seattle for the foreseeable future.

"We've always thought I would be here," he said earlier this season. "That's been always my goal - to win multiple Super Bowls, and my plan is to be here and do that."

Wilson's reported desire to explore his options comes after the Seahawks missed the postseason for just the second time since 2012 and a regular season in which he missed three games due to injury.

The star passer has been the subject of trade rumors dating back to last offseason after expressing frustration with the number of hits he has taken during his Seahawks tenure.

Wilson has two years remaining on a contract that features a no-trade clause.

Seattle head coach Pete Carroll hinted that changes may be on the horizon following his end-of-season meeting with team owner Jody Allen and general manager John Schneider.

"Whatever is there, (we've) got to exhaust the opportunities for our club, and right from the owner, Jody wants us to take a look at every single opportunity to better the franchise," Carroll told KCPQ FOX 13 Sports' Aaron Levine. He also said the Seahawks have the "nucleus" of a championship team in place.

Seattle reportedly doesn't intend to trade Wilson and is operating as though he will return under center for his 11th season with the franchise.

The 33-year-old signal-caller threw for 3,113 yards, 25 touchdowns, and six interceptions in 2021, leading the Seahawks to a 6-8 record in his starts.
