Hamilton's school bus service is reporting dozens of delays as students head back to school on Wednesday.

The return to in-person learning, originally set to start Monday, was pushed back by two days amid a record-breaking southern Ontario snowstorm.

The Hamilton-Wentworth Student Transportation Service (HWSTS), which buses students from the public and Catholic boards, reported 45 delays as of 8:50 a.m., affecting potentially hundreds of students.

Delays range from up to 15 minutes" to more than an hour for students at St. Thomas More Catholic Secondary School on the west Mountain.

The Hamilton bus service has 471 routes serving more than 29,000 students at the public and Catholic boards.
