What’s open and closed Thursday due to the winter storm

Environment Canada issued snowfall warning for Hamilton, Norfolk, and Brant. Niagara is under a winter storm watch. It warns of locally heavy snow this afternoon into this evening with up to 15 cm more snow falling on Thursday.

Hamilton Catholic board, HWCDSB

• Buses cancelled, schools OPEN

Buses are cancelled, but all schools, child care centres, adult education centres and administrative buildings of the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board are open today, Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022.

Hamilton Public board, HWDSB

• Schools and admin. buildings are closed today, Feb. 3, due to inclement weather and as a result of cancelled transportation. Buses are not running. All remote, eLearning, child care, and in-person learning is cancelled.

Halton Catholic, HCDSB

• All schools are OPEN and buses are running today - some route delays are anticipated. Bundle up and check HSTS for possible delays or cancellations before heading out

Halton Public, HDSB

• All schools are OPEN and buses are running. Be sure to dress warm and check @haltonschoolbus for possible delays or cancellations at http://haltonbus.ca.

McMaster University

• McMaster University is open today and classes are running as scheduled. We will continue to monitor the weather conditions and advise our community if anything changes.

Mohawk College

• Campuses are open today and classes are running as scheduled. Mohawk says they will continue to monitor the weather conditions and provide updates if the situation changes.

Niagara Catholic board, NDSB

• Buses are cancelled but schools are open for those who can get to school safely. If you are keeping your child home, report their absence through Safe Arrival. If you have to travel, be safe out there.

Niagara Public board, DSBN

• Schools Open/Transportation Cancelled due to road conditions. If your child is not going to school today, please report their absence in Safe Arrival.

Grand Erie District School Board

• All GEDSB schools closed today for inclement weather. Asynchronous learning will be available.

Brock University

• The school will be open today and in-person and on-campus classes and activities will be held as scheduled. A decision on evening classes, events and activities will be announced by 3 p.m. Please monitor http://brocku.ca for any updates.

University of Guelph

• Currently open and classes are proceeding as scheduled. Please exercise caution when travelling to and from campus.

City services

• Update: City crews are clearing snow & applying material to our escarpments and Priority 1 & 2a Roads at this time. Crews are also continuing to clear snow on bike lanes, and are beginning sidewalk plowing where required.

• The Keddy Access Trail is currently closed.

• The Dental Health Bus will be located at Norman Pinky Lewis Rec Centre, 192 Wentworth St. N. today from 8:30am - 4:30pm (closed 12- 1pm) due to weather-related closures at the usual location.

Hamilton Street Railway

• All HSR routes are running today. Currently no significant delays. Please leave extra time for travel due to weather and road conditions. We encourage customers to use the HSRnow trip planner (http://www.hamilton.ca/hsrnow) or mobile app for real-time information.
