Josh McDaniels is adding one of the NFL's most respected assistants to his new coaching staff in Las Vegas.

The Raiders are hiring New York Giants defensive coordinator Patrick Graham, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Graham generated interest from multiple teams recently, including the Minnesota Vikings, who interviewed him for their head coaching job. The 43-year-old was one of the finalists in Minnesota and was expected to stay with the Giants after the Vikings reportedly hired Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O'Connell as their next head coach.

The Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly also requested an interview with Graham for their vacant DC job.

Graham will replace Gus Bradley, who's reportedly headed to the Indianapolis Colts.

The Raiders' defense allowed 337.1 yards and 25.8 points per game last season, ranking 14th and 26th in the league, respectively. The unit also struggled with only 15 takeaways and 35 sacks throughout the year.

Las Vegas began putting together a new coaching staff after officially announcing general manager Dave Ziegler and coach McDaniels on Monday.

Graham knows McDaniels from their time together on the New England Patriots, where he worked from 2009-15 in multiple roles. McDaniels enjoyed two different stints in New England (2001-08, 2012-21), mostly as quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator.

With Graham's exit, new Giants head coach Brian Daboll loses one of the most prominent members of his staff.
