Tennessee Titans general manager Jon Robinson confirmed his commitment to Ryan Tannehill despite outside criticisms over the quarterback's 2021 campaign.

"Ryan's a pro. He knows how much he means to us. Traded for that guy. Gave him an opportunity to start. New contract," Robinson told the Nashville Tennessean's Ben Arthur. "I think it's pretty apparent where he stands with us. He's our quarterback. I don't know how many more times I gotta say it."

Tannehill drew complaints after a three-interception performance in the divisional round resulted in the Cincinnati Bengals sending the Titans home. Errant passes were a frequent concern for the veteran last season as his 14 picks thrown were more than his previous two campaigns combined.

Robinson attributed some of Ryan's turnovers to elements out of the quarterback's control.

"Nobody probably feels worse than Ryan," Robinson said. "Not to speak for Ryan about the amount of interceptions that went down this year and probably not all of them are on him."

He added, "Sometimes, a (defensive back) makes a great play. Sometimes, a receiver may be off his spot. He may get pressured and the ball gets tipped. There's a lot that goes into those plays. But ultimately, the quarterback is the one who bears the blame for it."

It was previously reported that the Titans would move forward with Tannehill after rumors linking Aaron Rodgers to the franchise were shot down.

Tannehill, 33, is in the midst of a four-year, $118-million deal. He's due to account for $38.6 million against the cap in 2022 and would carry a $57.4-million dead cap charge if released, according to Spotrac.

The Titans secured the No. 1 seed in the AFC after Tannehill led them to a 12-5 record last season. However, the loss to the Bengals marked their second straight one-and-done venture in the playoffs.
