Packers hire Bisaccia as ST coach
Former Las Vegas Raiders interim head coach Rich Bisaccia is joining the Green Bay Packers as their new special teams coordinator, the team announced Tuesday.
The Packers fired Maurice Drayton on Sunday after a mistake-ridden season on special teams culminated in a poor performance from the unit in the divisional-round loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Bisaccia has 20 years of experience coaching special teams in the NFL and has been an assistant head coach with five clubs. He joined the Raiders in 2018 as their assistant head coach and special teams coordinator.
The 61-year-old interviewed for Las Vegas' permanent head coaching position after leading the team to the playoffs following Jon Gruden's midseason resignation. The Raiders ended up hiring Josh McDaniels to fill the vacancy.
Bisaccia also interviewed for the Jacksonville Jaguars' head coaching position, which went to Doug Pederson.
