Bengals sign Taylor to extension through 2026 season

Zac Taylor has been rewarded for leading the Cincinnati Bengals to a Super Bowl appearance.

The Bengals extended Taylor's contract through the 2026 season, the team announced.

Taylor was reportedly the NFL's lowest-paid head coach in 2021 and had just one more year left on his deal. Negotiating a new contract for the head coach after the postseason was reported to be a high priority for the Bengals.

The 38-year-old joined Cincinnati in 2019. Although the club only totaled six wins during Taylor's first two years as its head coach, the Bengals went 10-7 last season and reached their first Super Bowl in 33 years. However, they were defeated by the Los Angeles Rams 23-20 on Sunday.
