STORM CLOSURES: Hamilton area cancellations and updates

A snowfall warning issued for Hamilton has ended Friday morning.

Environment Canada cancelled the warning at 6:05 a.m., on the heels of another winter wallop that has left road conditions sloppy and unstable. Here is a quick look at what is closed or cancelled Friday morning.

Cancellations closures and updates

Schools

  • Hamilton Catholic school board, all schools, child care programs and adult education centres are closed. Virtual school will operate per usual. In-person students will have the opportunity to participate in asynchronous learning.

  • All Hamilton public schools, child care, and admin. buildings are closed. Transportation is cancelled and all remote, eLearning, and in-person learning is cancelled. Severe weather procedures are in effect.

  • All Halton District School Board schools (in-person & virtual) and workplaces are closed. School bus transportation is cancelled.

  • Halton Catholic school board, all school transportation is cancelled and all schools are closed to students and staff. Asynchronous materials/tasks will be posted for students but no live instruction will take place.

  • Upper Grand DSB all UGDSB schools/offices are closed today to staff and students. Students can shift to remote learning, where possible. Staff should not report to work in person, and shift to remote working where possible. All buses & taxis are cancelled to UGDSB schools

  • Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board, transportation in all zones is cancelled and schools are closed. Students will have asynchronous learning activities posted on Brightspace class pages.

  • McMaster University is open today and classes are running as scheduled. The school says it will continue to monitor the weather and advise the community if anything changes.

  • All Mohawk College campuses are open, and classes are running as scheduled. Please use extra care and caution when travelling during winter weather conditions.

  • Dundas Valley School of Art, DVSA, studios are open today with classes running as scheduled. Please be careful travelling on the roads.

  • Brock University, will remain fully operational, with all in-person and online classes taking place as scheduled at its campuses.

  • Sheridan College, campuses are open today for those attending in person learning. Online classes will run as scheduled.

  • University of Guelph's Guelph campus is CLOSED today.

Community Services

  • SACHA is closed today due to inclement weather. The crisis support line is available: 905-525-4162

  • All YWCA Hamilton child care centres in Hamilton and Dunnville are closed today due to the weather.

  • Compass Community Health will be closed for in-person care today due to inclement weather.

Community

  • Hamilton Conservation Authority main office Woodend is closed for the day on Friday Conservation Areas are temporarily closed. Please give staff room to remove the snow. Updates will be posted on our social feeds throughout the day.
