What are you doing this weekend? Here’s five things to do in the Hamilton area

What can't you do in Hamilton?
Not a lot. It's another new weekend with a host of new adventures and activities. Hamiltonians are celebrating Winterfest, taking in a test pilot at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, jazzing under twinkling lights at the RBG and so much more.
Environment Canada is calling for fairly mild temperatures just below the freezing mark for the weekend. If you didn't get enough snow on Friday, there's a little more in the forecast for Sunday.
Warmth of Winterfest
Hamilton's Winterfest activities continue daily until March 6. Get out and you might meet the mascots Stormy, North Wind and Celsius.
Hamilton's historic Auchmar Estate, 88 Fennell Ave. W., is home to the Winterfest Hub, with events, tours, installations, food trucks, and signature concerts. Visit or follow Winterfest for full details on more winter-inspired events across the city.
This weekend's signature concert features Ellevator on Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 and available through eventbrite.ca.
Hamilton Fashion Week runs Sunday to March 5. The event kicks off Sunday with an online model showcase and finishes up March 5 with a free marketplace event and gala fashion show at The Music Hall. The Waterfront Festival of Lights is on at Pier 8, 57 Discovery Dr. The lights turn on at dusk and off at 10 p.m. hamiltonfashionweek.com
Last week's bad weather forced the Hot Chocolate in the Park event at Carter Park to be postponed to this weekend. Warm up with friends and neighbours on Saturday between 2 and 3 p.m. If the weather co-operates and the rink is set, bring your skates for a spin on the ice.
Art auction
As a preamble to their annual April art auction, Dundas Valley School of Art is warming up with a Pop-Up Art Auction: Collectors' Edition. The event features 24 historic pieces and collectible gems. View the artwork at: biddingforgood.com/nvoUv or in the DVSA main foyer. Bidding closes on Feb. 28 at 11 a.m.
Seed library
The Royal Botanical Gardens' seed library is open for requests. Nurture your connection to plants. The RBG provides seeds to borrow, grow, and then return. Visit rbg.ca and search seed library" for details.
