Bills grant Beasley permission to seek trade

Cole Beasley wants out of Buffalo.

The Bills granted the veteran wide receiver's request to seek a trade, general manager Brandon Beane told Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

However, Beane is open to Beasley changing his mind, saying "no door has been closed."

The wideout is entering the final year of a four-year, $29-million contract and will count $7.6 million against the cap in 2022, according to Spotrac. The Bills would save $6.1 million by trading or releasing him.

Beasley produced a career year during his second season in Buffalo in 2020, catching 967 yards and four touchdowns. But his numbers dipped in 2021 as he finished the year with 693 yards and just one score.

Beasley will turn 33 in April. He is seeking a move ahead of a free-agency period that potentially will be headlined by star wideouts like Davante Adams, Chris Godwin, and Mike Williams, among others.
