Report: Chiefs, Hill discussing contract extension
The Kansas City Chiefs and wide receiver Tyreek Hill have been involved in negotiations for a long-term contract extension over the past week, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
Hill's next deal should be more conventional than his current contract, Rapoport adds. Hill is currently playing on a three-year, $54-million pact that includes $35 million in guaranteed money. But just $5.8 million of that guaranteed money came in the form of a signing bonus, with most of it paid out via roster bonuses, according to Spotrac.
The three-time All-Pro's next contract will likely make him one of the league's highest-paid wideouts, Rapoport notes.
Hill, 28, has made the Pro Bowl in each of his six NFL seasons. The 2016 fifth-round pick caught a career-high 111 passes for 1,239 yards and nine touchdowns in 2021.
