Alessia Cara to perform at Heritage Classic
Grammy-winning singer Alessia Cara will perform between periods Sunday during the outdoor NHL Heritage Classic at Tim Hortons Field between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Buffalo Sabres.
The NHL announced Monday that the 25-year-old Brampton native will headline the entertainment bill for the game that will be broadcast on TNT, Sportsnet and TVA Sports beginning at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 13.
Cara, who won the Grammy for best new artist in 2018, will perform during the game's first intermission. Additional acts will be announced by the NHL later this week.
The platinum selling recording star soared to fame with her Top-10 hit Here" in 2015 from her debut album Know-It-All." Cara's followup The Pains of Growing" won her Juno Awards for best album and songwriter of the year.
Sunday's game, played at the home of the Hamilton Tiger Cats, marks the NHL's sixth outdoor Heritage Classic since 2003, and the 35th league game played outdoors.
