Farmers’ report warns climate crisis puts Australia’s food supply at increasing risk

Empty supermarket shelves will become a more frequent sight for Australians as the climate crisis heightens the risk of food shortages after extreme weather events, a new report says.

The report, released on Wednesday by Farmers for Climate Action, entitled Fork in the road: impacts of climate change on our food supply, comes after recent food shortages across the country caused by the pandemic, bushfires, floods and inundation of rail lines.
