Report: Cowboys interested in Wagner
The Dallas Cowboys have contacted free-agent linebacker Bobby Wagner over a potential move, a source told ESPN's Ed Werder.
It's uncertain whether the two sides will agree to a deal, but they'll remain in contact over the next few days, Werder adds.
Wagner would be reunited with defensive coordinator Dan Quinn in Dallas. Quinn coached Wagner from 2013-14 as the Seattle Seahawks' defensive coordinator.
The Seahawks released Wagner on Wednesday. The veteran linebacker was an instrumental piece in a dominant Seattle defense over his decade with the club, racking up six All-Pro selections, eight Pro Bowl honors, and one Super Bowl victory.
A second-round pick in 2012, Wagner twice led the NFL in tackles (2016, 2019) and recorded at least 100 tackles in all 10 of his professional seasons.
Wagner's addition would bolster a Cowboys linebacking core headlined by 2021 Defensive Rookie of the Year Micah Parsons.
