The Las Vegas Raiders traded Yannick Ngakoue to the Indianapolis Colts for cornerback Rock Ya-Sin, the Colts announced Wednesday.

Ngakoue became expendable after the Raiders reportedly signed pass-rusher Chandler Jones in free agency earlier Wednesday.

The Colts will take on Ngakoue's one-year, $13-million contract, according to Spotrac. The move clears $7 million in cap space for the Raiders but leaves them with an $8-million dead-money charge.

Ngakoue will be reunited with defensive coordinator Gus Bradley in Indianapolis. The veteran pass-rusher flourished under Bradley last season in Las Vegas, recording 10 sacks - his highest total since the 2017 campaign.

Indianapolis will be Ngakoue's fifth destination since 2019 after the Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings, Baltimore Ravens, and Raiders. Drafted in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Ngakoue has one Pro Bowl invite and has recorded 55.5 career sacks.

Ya-Sin will arrive in Las Vegas off the heels of an impressive 2021 campaign. He didn't grab an interception but recorded eight passes defended and allowed a career-best 53.3 completion percentage when targeted, per PFR.
